Take advantage of Government solar rebates while you can

The Federal Government’s Clean Energy Legislation signals the arrival of solar power as a mainstream electricity source. The legislation, with its strong support for research and development of renewable energy technologies, will ensure that energy derived from clean, non-polluting resources like solar, will be a significant component of Australia’s energy supply.

Solar power, now widely understood and accepted, is likely to see less and less Government financial support at the household level.  The solar objective has now been met – just looking at suburban rooftops will show you that solar has arrived.  

The profile of solar and its affordability have both increased to a level where the government believes it will soon no longer be necessary to give subsidies and rebates. Future Government attention, under the legislation, will focus on advancing technology and clean energy industry employment, rather than household assistance to adopt solar.

Fortunately this hasn’t happened yet, and Queenslanders are well advised to take advantage of the generous solar feed in tariff, while the opportunity to do so remains.

 Importantly, if you sign up for solar now, you will benefit until 2028, under the Solar Bonus Scheme.

If you don’t get in, you are unlikely to ever see such a deal again with solar.
